Completely Delicious

I made ramen for dinner. From scratch!! It was great!! I'm so happy ^_^ It was kind of hard, and my broth didn't turn out so great so I had to add some chicken goop to make it taste better, but it turned out so good!! Yaaay!

I'm going to ditch school tomorrow. My mom is pissed that we're watching movies all day. I just have to go back for my final 7th period.

It was really fun; today in web design, Tessa, Whitney, and I (notice the impeccible grammer, and not so impeccible spelling..) have been assigned to make up a business and create a webpage for it. We have a cafe/art gallery/ bookstore type thing going on. And we made up a really cool Staff Information page. Its wicked sweet. :) And Tessa is Vice President in Charge of Knock Knock jokes.

French Word of the Day: Jamais, meaning never. I'm not feeling creative enough to look up a word I didn't know. How a bout, requin, meaning shark? A perfectly useless noun!! Gotta love 'em.

You know what I'm scared of? Talking to people. Like going shopping, check outs are agony. I always wonder what people think of what I'm buying. It's probably not healthy to do that. I put on a stony face and hope they say nothing! I forgot my library card (I'm typing this at the library) and so now I'm forced to check out with a live human being. Severe introversion- bad sign.

And yet I'm completely willing to put my personal (to a point) thoughts on the web. Maybe its because I know no one reads these. COMMENT IF YOU ACTUALLY READ THIS!! OR SEND ME AN EMAIL!! I PROMISE I WON'T STOP POSTING! JUST SHOW ME SOME LOVE. ^_^

Oooh ooh I found out today I got into Symphonic band at the high school! With 2 of my best friends!! Happy day! We have lunch together because we're freshmen, and the same IB math, music theory, gym (hopefully), and now band!! YES! Next year maybe won't suck.

But its Friday, and no school!! Woot woot! I love having free time, even if I have to do a bunch of homework... And Pirates 3 is out!! YEAHH!!! I must see it... its probably sold out lol.

Dad is leaving again. He flies out tonight and I kind of really don't want him to go.. I need him to come back faster this time. Two weeks is way too long.

I'm kind of dissapointed in the battle in InuYasha where he has to fight Ryuukotsusei.. its was made up to be really a pivotal battle, but it was something like, 20 pages max. I was a little sad. The battle with Jakotsu was more dramatic!! Gaaa.

Japanese Word for Today: kyoushitsu- meaning classroom. This reminds me of Azu, which I started watching this week... I cannot believe how funny it is!!! Osaka is so ridiculous...

No Dancing

I am such a coward. I couldn't go to the dance, I can't stand seeing him with her... Whats so hard is that I'm actually good friends with her, I don't hate her at all! But I get embarrassed when I see them together. I can't go. I just can't do it.

Today was such a drag... it was horrible. Dragging a drumset around all day, and a trumpet case, my lips are so chapped they bleed. I feel like s***. Its amazing, I say whatever I want (as long as my parents aren't there) but on the internet I censor myself... Funny isn't it.

Stop Landmines, They Suck.

Land mines are the worst ever. I hate when I go to a class and they tell us about all the horrible things in the world. Its not that I want to be kept in the dark, anything but, its just hard knowing its out there and I'm about to leave for a class where the most important thing is how to factor cubic equations...

Our school is working so hard to make money to get rid of them and buy prosthetics for children who are abandoned because they lost a limb to a blast. Its amazing how much support they're getting. I looked around my English class today, and saw at least 6 people wearing the "No More Landmines" t-shirts. We're having a penny war and selling popsicles at the dance tomorrow. I just hope maybe we can make a difference. I'm wearing my shirt right now, and due to my own insecurities, I rarely wear short sleeve shirts, but I feel proud to be wearing it. Who Cares About Polynomials??

Lets see, I just received an email from the friendly neighborhood school district, informing me of my C grade in math. So I check on my grade, and it says I'm missing a bunch of stuff and I got a 0 out of 55 on my quiz... I'm thinking theres something wrong with this... I can't have gotten a 0, the yes or no questions were easy!! AAAAhhh what is wrong with this teacher!!

And I got my daily affirmation, today from Lauren. One of those email surveys (which I usually ignore) was going around and I actually decided to open the one from lauren.

Wow, Fushigi no Umi Nadia, its been a long time! After Sailor Moon, this was one of the first animes I watched. Mom made us stop watching when one of the major characters died and she didn't want us scarred by that.

Today, my father decided to try telecommuting. I'm not sure how all his day went, but when I got home, I did all my work RIGHT AWAY!! Ahhhhhh dad in work mode is scaryy!! Just like when I have to call him at work and he doesn't even answer the phone normally.
I call him and this is how it goes:
*phone rings*
Dad: Evan.
Me: *eeep*
*pause*
Me: *quietly* hi daddy
Dad: Oh! Hey wassup?

He doesn't say Hello? or anything, its all business!! I don't know if I'll ever be able to answer a phone like that.
Yeah, I was kind of scared to practice at all.. so I walked the dog for 2 hours until I was completely sure he would be done working. Of course, this freaked out my family and they went looking for me , but thats my fault.

French word of the Day: chatain, meaning brown, chestnut-brown, or light brown.. new colors are always good :)

Japanese word of the Day: wakai, meaning young. I know that most adjectives end with -i or -ii... Yeah that was kind of random.

Song For Today: White Riot by The Clash... I really love this song. It makes me want to start a fight or something.. but I usually just dance and sing along. Its kind of hard to sing along to The Clash, his voice is too distinctive!

French Word of Today: kakatoes meaning cockatoo. I have to say, cockatoo is probably one of my favorite english words, and definitely my favorite english word for a white bird not found wild in the rocky mountains. Used in a sentence: Zut! J'ai perdu mon kakatoes a la piscine!! Why you would have your cockatoo at the pool, I dunno, to each his own.

Lauren (who doesn't have a kakatoes.. but never mind that) had a birthday last weekend, and didn't tell anybody. So here's a picture of a cake for Neraul.
Yes, yes, its a pirates of the Caribbean cake. Lauren told me about how her family was sitting down to celebrate and sing and eat cake and her father had already begun singing... Her mom was carrying the cake (carefully so the candles didn't light anything important on fire..) when she looked over at the home of the family's remaining guinea pig. And while Lauren's father began to sing, all her mother could say was "oh, the guinea pig's dead."

Needless to say, some people can't see why this is so funny, but I laughed until I cried.

I finished part 1 of Fushigi Yuugi: The Mysterious Play last night, wow. Yu Watase really knows how to make me feel so sad. It was so amazing, and intense, and sad, and dramatic, and powerful, the whole time. I almost cried, and I haven't cried in a really long time.

Okay, okay, happy thoughts!!

French class is having a garage sale this saturday, and I'm so excited. But I think I was acting a little, um, immature in class today. You see, I really wanted to do the bake sale part, and I think I volunteered a little too.. eagerly. I hate when I lose control of myself like that! Urgg!

And Lauren and I went to put a dollar into Mrs Howhiler's jar for the penny war and she got so pissed off! I know she's pregnant and everything, but we're here to save little children who's legs are getting blown off. She took it personally because she thinks band kids hate her. We don't, its not true!! It all started with the incident at the elementary school tour. The band kids were at Dunn and the Choir kids walked in on our performance. We had been walking around all day, and were not in the best of moods. So we got a *little* pissed off. And got revenge, giving silent treatment. Now, all they know about us is that we *hate them*, nothing about our talents as musicians or as students or as human beings, just that we're the jaded band kids. Gaa.

C'est Moi

It was really strange. This morning I woke up, the sun streaming through my windows. It was warm, and my flannel curtains cast green-gold shadows through my room. I rolled over and picked up my manga that I got from the library yesterday, Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. I read through the 2nd one and then halfway through the 4th when okaa-san called upstairs, declaring we had biscuits to eat. Its the sunday morning law, do not, ever, ever, ever, come downstairs until you are absolutely certain that there is breakfast waiting. This way, someone will make you breakfast in order to tempt you down, not knowing they have fallen into your 'trap'. Works like a charm. So I went downstairs, ate breakfast, and read the comics. I had a cup of green tea with lemon and billy joel piano music drifting through the house.. I guess I'm not used to it being so.. peaceful. ^_^" Haha.

French Word of the Day: phalene, meaning moth. I picked it out of the french-english dictionary this morning. There aren't a whole lot of words beginning with ph- in French.

Song For Today: Kimi o Nosete from Laputa: Castle in the Sky, I had forgotten how much I loved this movie, but I heard the song on iTunes and remembered it. It is so so so beautiful. I've been listening to some prairie home companion and its been some poetry thing. Anyways, the poet laureate was on (billy collins was it?) and he is so fantastic. Pretty cool.

I think, I've been thinking, what if I never figure out what it is that only I can do? What if there is always somebody better than me, and I am never needed? I know I have a lot of time to figure it out, but what if that isn't true? Will I end up completely useless? Its a little scary to think about it, but its there.. and I don't like that. So. I've decided, today I am going to go around and take pictures of stuff. Maybe I'll find the same peace that I found this morning...

Pet Peeve for Today: People who pronounce sake sockee.. gaa that is so annoying!! I end up sitting at the sushi bar wanting to be like "hey loser, get it right!!" Then he says, I hope the sushi here doesn't suck. I wanted to slap him over the head. Hard. We were at JeJu last night (best restaurant in town!) and I got the nabeyaki udon, because udon is the best in the rain ^_^. Oishii!

Japanese Word For Today: kodomo, meaning children. This word reminds me of kodama the little guys from Mononoke Hime
and that in turn reminds me of kendama, the ball and cradle game!

I really should watch Mononoke Hime again, its been a while. I should buy it!! Yahh thats an idea. The japanese poster is so cool... I want it.

It Rains

Posting at the library is a great feeling. I know my dad won't be peering over my shoulder (why should I care? Its not like I'm writing anything bad.. geez) and I feel very comfortable surrounded by strangers who don't try to talk to me or judge me or any crap like that. Haha, I'm way more happy here than at school where I know people. I got more inuyasha ^_^ happy day. I'm on the volume with the scary spider dude, scary, scary!!

I watched the rain fall from my two big windows in my room. It was so beautiful. I loved the sound it made, I could hear it getting stronger and stronger, and then it hailed for a bit, and the hailstones bounced off my window sill. There was thunder and lighting and it was so cold but I liked it. It was very pretty. And its still raining. I like the way the remnants from the drops blown by the wind stick to the windows, and its hard to see out. It makes being inside more... shelter-y.

Song For Today: Close To You from the soundrack of 'MirrorMask', I really like this song, I remember the sequence from the movie, and it was cool, the transformation from Helena into the princess with the clocks and robots. It was pretty cool, and the song is kind of hypnotic.

Spencer got 3rd place in the district triple jump, I'm very proud of him. X) Dad took a picture on his cell phone, but I'm not sure he knows how to put said picture on the computer.. so much for tech savvy.

I wonder if my trumpet is going to be back from the repair shop on monday. I tried to play it in class on thursday and i couldn't get a sound through. I took out my second valve and it was completely misaligned. Not good. I had to take off the slide, the valve, and the bottom cap and line it up. Now I could play it, good! Then I pressed my 3rd valve. No more sound. Not good. I couldn't fix that one. :( Yikes.

TTFN, and remember, without the letter i, the world would be very different! Thats all folks.

Its Saturday!

The problem with having my own blog is that when I finally have a place to write about all the weird random stuff that I think about.. all the time... I can't actually think of it anymore. Its a curse, a jinx. I don't like it!

Anyways, its cold. And windy. And my brother is at a track meet (for triple jump and shot put) with my dad, and mom is at the theater doing theater type stuff. So i'm here making anime animated GIFs, because I can and we got this new drawing tablet thing which is beyond cool. Yaay!

Okay, French Word For Today: abri- meaning shelter, I originally thought it meant arbor, but I guess not. I saw it at this fantastic ice cream place in Spanish, Ontario called Le Bel Abri. Good times good times.

Okay, Japanese Word For Today: unmei- meaning fate, I looked up this word while I was listening to a great song from an anime, and I can't remember it! Gaaa.

I've been getting re-hooked on Yuu Watase's stuff, and every time I read it I like it more. That makes me happy :).
